About Heather Willison

A proud native of Austin, Texas (The Live Music Capital of the World), Heather started her public relations career working with music, events, and talent for such organizations as the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy (the Grammy Awards), VH1, Rogers & Cowan and McGuckin Entertainment PR. When she moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2002, it didn’t take her long to find a way to stay connected to the community she knew and loved. In April of that year, she accepted the position of publicity and promotions manager for the nationally syndicated public radio program, etown.

But what music is to Austin, natural foods are to Boulder, and before long Heather found herself intrigued by a new community, which she found just as exciting (if not as much fun to dance to). And from 2004 to late 2006, while working as the director of public relations for the IZZE Beverage Company, she quickly realized that what she truly enjoyed most of all was effectively representing good people behind any product or service she loved, especially those that enhance other peoples’ lives.

And that’s why she founded SNAP! PR—to expand her ability to do just that, for a growing, diverse, and colorful client base.

“It is incredibly gratifying to hone in on the right words, venue, and consumer base for products and services I believe in,” Heather says. “And in this work, the successes are not only shared, they’re continuous, they build on one another, and the rewards become too numerous to list. It’s the perfect work for me. I love every bit of it.”

About Sylvia Henry

Sylvia was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2008 with a degree in communications.

In 2006, while serving as a public relations intern for her home city’s Children’s Hospital, Sylvia realized how much she loved helping a great organization get the word out in an effective, dynamic way. And from that point on, she knew exactly what she wanted to do: pursue a career in public relations.

This was why, during her last year at CU, she applied for, and was offered, an internship at SNAP! PR.

It only took a few weeks for SNAP! founder Heather Willison to become thoroughly impressed with Sylvia’s intelligence, energy, and professionalism. In June of 2008, before the ink on Sylvia’s diploma had even dried (well, figuratively anyway), Heather offered her a full-time position with SNAP! PR, and Sylvia happily accepted.

During her college years, Sylvia spent a year studying in Sydney, Australia. Living abroad honed her appreciation for the differences between cultures that make them memorable and unique. She sees the same kind of cultural distinctions in her clients, and believes that every one of them has a perspective that should not only be met, but celebrated.

“It’s both motivating and inspiring to be able to help aspiring companies make a big impact, and to see our efforts here at SNAP! help budding companies blossom into powerful, well-known brands,” Sylvia says. “I am incredibly fortunate to do work I’m so passionate about for a company I love so much.”
